"Noisy Letters" are audio recordings. As of 2015 I’ve been putting visuals to them addressing another sense, sight, most notably, perspective. Perspective can be a hellofadrug and I‘ve been in a constant state of expansion. I don’t waste the drug I make it valuable. With this project, and a future installation based on, I want to arouse thoughts and feelings when no one is telling you what to feel or how to think. I want people to imagine a life without pain because I've found a few ways, can you? Will they? … Be able to stay.
Have you ever listened to the voice of someone who is dead? I have and do because the dead help me too. I’ve been recording for almost a decade. When I record myself, others, sounds, etc.,
I feel in control and am reminded… Control is a beautiful idea. Some say I'm paranoid, misleading, invasive, contradicting, lying... Maybe, but what makes what you and/or I say or do when no one is listening, different from when someone is listening and/or watching you? Do you have to be seen to feel seen? Do you have to be heard to feel someone’s listening?
"Noisy Letters" are a way for me to process feelings and thoughts on my own. They’ve allowed me to be AL(L)ONE as well accepting without coming from a place of judgement or attaching to anyone and/or anything. I’ve learned it’s not questioning which helps me, it’s asking the right questions. Are your thoughts and feelings your own? Or are they, owned? And if so, by who? What are you willing to do? If you are the master, are you in control of you? Who’s asking? Perhaps me experimenting on myself will allow another to do the same. Allow that part of yourself you can hide from. Maybe that’s who’ll end up saving you.
